Having something you can hold in your hands can make an idea feel more tangible and attainable, and foster a sense of authenticity. This is the benefit that print and other physical media still provide in a marketing context.

I've created hundreds of print pieces and custom swag items over the course of my 11 years as a graphic designer, but this sampling is from my time at Luminator Technology Group. The transit technology industry, in my experience, leans "old school", which meant a lot of print material compared to my other positions.
This offered me a chance to get a sense for various paper weights and binding techniques, and allowed me to gain experience working with print and production companies to deliver a range of high-quality physical deliverables.
